Story [duchas:5172896]
In the town land of Ballygreen about ninety years ago, there lived a little boy about fourteen years of age. On a certain evening his father sent him riding an ass to Killaloe for a message. He reached the town safely, got his message, and was returning home when not far from his own house the ass took fright and knocked him. When he got up he found his leg sore but he went on home and said nothing about it and after a few days it was all right again. Some time after he was hurling in a field near his own house with more boys when he stepped in the field and hurt his leg

again. He went home and told what happened and felt great pain and as it showed no sign of improvement his father decided to take him to Biddy Early. He told her that the boy hurt his foot while hurling and that he had great pain for the last week. Biddy said that the fall he got while hurling was not the cause of this and she asked the boy did he fall of an ass near his own house. The boy said he did and Biddy said that it was the cause of his trouble now. Then she gave him a bottle and told him to take some of it every day and after a week, he was a well as ever again.
