Do chómnuigh mórán daoine cáileamhala sa paróiste seo fadó. Do chómhnuigh sleághdóir cáileamhail i Seana-Bhaile darb ainm dó Seán Ó Éigeartaigh. Bhí fiadhach le bheith i Sráid na Cathrach agus bhí cú aige a bhí le bheith ag rith sa rás. Ba mhaith leis bheith fé láthair ach ní bhéadh sé indon muna bhí an mhóin bainte aige.

D'éirig sé ar a ceathar a chlog an mhaidin roimh ré agus do dhein se obair na maidne. D'imthigh sé go dtí an portach ar a sé a chlog. Thosnuigh sé ag baint na móna agus bhí a driothar í chur amach uaidh. D'obruigh sé go cruaidh ar feadh an lae agus um thráthnóna bhí se críochnuighthe.
