Hogan of a group of Irish Free State Army soldiers seated and standing in the street of a city or town; some are posing with their machine gun, two are sporting bandages and one is wearing binoculars; all are relaxed; the group contains a number of civilians including a young man holding a dog; they are grouped outside the entrance to an alley over which the name Auchmuty is written.
