Birds [duchas:4375021]

How lonely the world would be without our feathered friends!
There are many kinds of birds in this district namely: robins, larks, wrens. swallows, wagtails, magpies, wild geese, snipe, wild-duck. The robins and lark build their nests in a ditch or in a corn-field. The wren builds her nest in house-eaves. She lays eighteen eggs though she is the smallest of all the birds. Magpies and blackbirds build their nests on trees.

It is said that when Our Lord was dying on the cross a little robin was looking on. The blood was flowing down quickly and the robin lay on the pool of Our Lord's blood. Ever since her breast is red.
