Old Crafts [duchas:4564290]

Long ago when there were no candles the people used pull rushes in the bog. They used take the cover off. Then they got a grisid. It was a vessel about one foot in length shaped like a boat. Some grease was got and put into it. The rushes were dipped into it. When that was done the rushes were tied into bundles and left to dry during the Summer months. This used be done each Summer and by Winter they were dry enough to be lighted.
