Glaspistol [duchas:4963450]

There is a fine old castle in Glaspistol, near Clogherhead. This castle is very well kept. It was the birthplace of John Baptist Dowdall who, it is believed, will shortly be raised to the Altars of the Church.
There is a well situated on Mr. Markey's land here, the water of which local tradition tells, cries out "Don't boil me" if it is put in a vessel on the fire.
