Béaloideas on Old Houses [duchas:4379302]

The walls of the houses in olden days were built with mud. They were roofed with straw or heather. They consisted of  a very small door and a window, In most of the houses kitchen and bed-room were one. The beds were were one. The bed were made of timber with hoods over them. Their fire consisted of twig and furze bushes. The floor was made of mud and when the weather was wet the people used bring the slob into the houses on their shoes and it used stick to the floor and from to time to time the floor got high. Then spades should be got and the floor scraped away.
