A plant called stinking Roger grows at the edge of a ditch. The old people boil it and drink the juice. They rub wart-weed on warts. A man lived in Allenwood named Jim Baker. He could mow an acre of meadow in a day with a scythe. Mr. William Carroll, now living at Derrymullen Bridge, ran from Allenwood to Dublin and back in a day - about 56 statute miles.
