1. Bhí de ghnádh fadó dha mbheadh duine ag dul ag tórthadh, gráinne salainn in a mbéal ag ceapadh nach rachaidh na daoine maithe in aice leo.

2. Dhá dtuitfeadh duine amuigh ar an t-sráid sé a déanfaidh nuair a thiocfadh sé isteac na gráinne salainn a chuir in a mbéal ar eagla go dtúibhradh na daoine maithe (na sidheóga) leo é.

3. Nuair a bhíonn siad ag déanamh ime cuireann siad splanc faoí an gcuinneóg ar eagla go dtóghadh na sídheóga uatha é.

4. Fadó an oidhche roimhe Lá Bealtaine théigheadh na daoine amach agus gheibhidís píosa beag dho crann Bealtaine agus cuiridís ar na ba agus ar na caoire é ar eagla go dtuibhaireadh na daoine maith leo an
