Nuair a bhíonns aimsear fluich air. Bíonn an t-aer dubh dorcha agus bíonn spotaí dubha ins an spéir agus bhíonn na faoileáin ag eiteal go h-árd ins an spéir agus annsin bíonn fhíos ag na daoine go mbíonn báisteach air. 
Nuair a bhíonns aimsear garbh nó gála air. Níonn na gabhair síos ins na gleann-ta agus nuiar a bhíonns aimsear bréagh air bíonn na gabhair ar na sleibhte is airde is féidir leó a fhághail.
Nuair a bhíonn aimsear seacha air bionn gaoth adtuaidh ann agus sé an sean-fhocal a déireann na daoine - " An ghaoth adthuaidh bíonn sí cruaidh agus cuireann sí fuacht ar daoine.
Nuair a bhíonns aimsear sneachta ar bíonn gaoth aníor ann agus deireann siad "An gaoth anoir bíonn sí tirm agus cuireann sí olna ar caoire
