The seine-boat was used with a seine-net, mainly for mackerel-fishing, and was rowed by 12 oarsmen using 6 oars, and a cox. In more recent times, it has been used for racing competitions rather than fishing. It is confined almost exclusively to the south-west part of Co. Kerry.
