Superstitions
1) If you see a moth flying around the house and if he strikes you, it is a sure sign that there is a letter coming to you.
2) To see a red spark on the wick of a candle when it is lighting is a sign that you will receive a letter in the morning.
3) If you see a long tea-leave floating on the top of a cup of tea and take it out and put it on the back of your hand and hit it with the other hand saying "To-day, to-morrow," and so on until the tea leave comes off with your hand and whatever day the day comes of with you are sure to get a letter on that day.
4) If you meet a red-haired

woman in the morning it is bad luck.
5) When you are taking your tea and if there are two spoons in your cup it is the sign of a wedding.
6) If you meet a boy and an ass it is good luck.
7) When you are selling eggs don't take any money for them only one penny luck.
8) If you go into a house and that the people in the house are churning if you go out without helping to churn you will bring all the butter with you.
9) If you kill a cricket he will eat all your clothes.
10) When a husband's wife dies and if he marries another girl he must not bring her

in on the same door as he brought the corpse of the last wife out on.
11) When you have any warts on your hands put three knots on a thread and throw it after a corpse that will cure your warts.
12) If you break a mirror there will be seven years bad luck in your house.
13) If you have a black cat in the house it is good luck.
14) When you see two mags it is good luck.
15) When a person is leaving his house if he forgets anything he shouldn't go back but if he goes back he should sit down and count thirteen and everything will be all right.

16) When there are two people walking on the road if they change places it is a disappointment.
17) When a spoon falls on the floor it is a sign of a visitor. 
18) If a turf falls off the floor fire someone is coming to the house.
19) When you give away a flower all your flowers will fade.
20) When you are walking on the road and if you meet a funeral walk three steps after it.
21) If a fook falls a lady calls.
22) If a knife falls a gentlemen calls.
