Pamphlet giving an account of Jessie Hannah Craigen's visit to Ireland in 1881. The widespread poverty and deprivation of the Irish is attributed to the question of land tenure and to the rack renting of lands by landlords. Also discussed are the evils of the Coercion Act and the injustices meted out to the people by the Royal Irish Constabulary. Numerous witness statements and corroborating statements concerning unjust treatment and police brutality are described.
