Some years ago three families who lived near Tallow were always trying to take the butter from each other. One time one family could not make the butter, another time the same happened to another and so on. When the people who could not make the butter would walk out they often saw lumps of some whitish stuff resembling butter hanging from the trees, or thrown on the fence or stuck on to the doors of the houses. At last the priest of the district heard it and he publicly condemned it one Sunday. He also said that an example would be made on those connected with such doings. It was recorded that something strange happened to each family. A man from one choked himself with a bone in Tallow and died very quickly. A woman of another of the houses hanged herself and a person also died suddenly in another house. The people of those three families are still living and are now the best of friends. On account of their

descendants being still in the district the story is given as private. The author's name must also be kept private as he is a relation of some of them.
