Scope and Content
The scope of this project is to create a content database of the Dublin Journal of Medical and Chemical Science between its creation in 1832 and the year 1949. The Dublin Journal of Medical Science is the longest running medical journal in Ireland, and is a vital source for the history and development of the medical profession in Ireland. This project aims to open up the Journal to researchers by providing, for the first time, a full index to all entries in the journal, not just the principle research articles. These include reports of hospitals in Ireland, reviews of recent medical works and discoveries, obituaries of Irish medical men, special reports, and occasional advertisements.

The full title of the entry, and the surname and forename of the authors, where given. A category, based on the divisions in the journal, which gives an indication of the nature of the entry, is also given. Information is provided as to whether the article is illustrated, the page numbers covered by the article, and the location of the volume.
