A Lime-Kiln [duchas:4646336]

A limekiln is a place where lime is burnt.  A limekiln is usually built at the foot of a hill and there is usually a shed beside it.  This district is specially noted for limekilns.

A Lime-Kiln [duchas:4646337]

all a layer of colm is put at the bottom of the kiln and then a layer of limestone is put on top and so on.  Then it is lit and according as the lime is burnt it fall down at the bottom and is put into the shed.
