NO Annie McCrea was one of the last native speakers in the Greencastle area. Dr. Wagner was Professor at Queen's University, Belfast and carried out extensive linguistic research on dialects of the Irish Language throughout the country. He published the Linguistic Atlas an Survey of Irish Dialects (Dublin, 1964).
