Special Collections A1 Norma Jessop NO Scope and Content: University College Dublin owns a collection of 39 18th century watercolour drawings, done by or for Gabriel Beranger, and known as the ‘Beranger’ watercolours. The subjects of the drawings are antiquarian sites – general views and details of, principally, churches, abbeys and castles. There is a scattering of pre-historic subjects. NO Provenance: Gabriel Beranger (ca. 1729-1817) NO Acquisition Information: University College Dublin bought the watercolours during 1968-9, from Mrs. Elizabeth Mossop, through Pauline Mossop, with the help of Dr. (later Professor) Michael Herity, of the Department of Archaeology, University College Dublin.
