NO Scope and Content: University College Dublin owns a collection of 39 18th century watercolour drawings, done by or for Gabriel Beranger, and known as the ‘Beranger’ watercolours. The subjects of the drawings are antiquarian sites – general views and details of, principally, churches, abbeys and castles. There is a scattering
        of pre-historic subjects.
NO Provenance: Gabriel Beranger (ca. 1729-1817)
NO Acquisition Information: University College Dublin bought the watercolours during 1968-9, from Mrs. Elizabeth Mossop, through Pauline Mossop, with the help of Dr. (later Professor) Michael Herity, of the Department of Archaeology, University College Dublin. Financial assistance was provided by the Arts
        Council.
