NO Scope and Content: The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) is the main professional association for nurses and midwives in Ireland. It was originally founded in 1919 as a branch of the Irish Women Workers' Union, when a small group of nurses and midwives came together, in Dublin, to address the issues of improving pay conditions, and setting professional standards for the performance of their duties through a range of educational initiatives.
