Abstract: Typescript letter from [French], GHQ, Homes Forces, Horse Guards, London to Maxwell. Agrees with postponing F's visit to Dublin. Writes 'I think "regretable [sic] incidents" such as those you refer to are absolutely unavoidable in such a business as this, and I think with our that the only wonder is there have been so few of them'. Advises Maxwell 'not think too much about what goes on in Parliament. We soldiers have always to put up with that and God knows I had had my share of it as you know'. Considers it unlikely that Maxwell will get any further units.
