Congenital luxation of the carpus


Watercolour medical illustration depicting congenital malformation of the forearm. It has the alternative reference number 1838, P18 and 175 on the front. There is no Richmond Hospital Museum reference. The artist's name is in the bottom right corner 'J. Connolly fec.t'. The handwritten note on the back reads 'D. O'Neil aet 35. Congenital Malformation. Vide pg 101 & 175. Congenital luxation of the carpus forwards with malformation of the bone of the forearm. There was also in this case of a congenital luxation of the head of the radius forward, as well as an original malformation of the knee. The patient a female aet 40 died of dysentery in the South Dublin Workhouse. Mr Smith'. The very feint note at the bottom reads 'Congenital malformation of forearm'.
