Formerly the Standard Life Assurance Company. Converted to a bank in 1952; lower storey rebuilt in 1970s.

Original church designed by Patrick Byrne and complete, minus portico, by 1856. Portico built 1878-81. Burnt 1920 and rebuilt under R. H. Byrne.

Built as a private residence for the 20th Earl of Kildare; acquired in 1924 as the seat of the Government of Ireland.

Development of Fitzwilliam (now Pembroke) estate instigated by 6th Viscount Fitzwilliam from 1752. Fitzwilliam Place developed in tandem with E and S sides of Fitzwilliam Square.

Royal College of Physicians: façade

Succeeded Richard Castle's original dining hall of 1741. This building was gutted by fire in 1984 and restored by DeBlacam & Meagher, and McDonnell & Dixon.

Remodelled in 1804-8 for the Bank of Ireland by Francis Johnston.
