"The form of the memorial is surely meant to stultify rather than glorify the sacrifice of a very brave young man. However I feel bound to subscribe to any effort to commemorate his memory". He also encloses subscriptions from Todd Andrews, Jim O' Hanrahan and Tadhg MacFirbhisigh.
