Churning [duchas:4957989]
We have a churn at ome. It is four fet. It is round in shape and is twenty years old. The parts are the churn staff and the lid. Butter is made once or twice a week. If any strangerscome in when churning they give a hand and say "God bless the work" because this is a custom. During churning the dash is moved up and down and when the butter is churned they move the dash round to seperate the butter from the milk. Churning takes from half an hour to an hour hour. The churning is done by hand. When the butter is done they put it into a wooden basin. They salt the butter and put it into prints. Collected by: Margaret Morgan Drummullagh (13 yrs)
