Local Cures
(1) There are many cures in Dalkey. Go to a Black-smith's trough and get the water in which he cools the red hot iron and put it on a wart for a few days and it will cure it I tried this cure myself and it succeeded
(2) There is another cure for a wart. Steal a piece of meat and let nobody know and then rub the meat on a wart and put the meat in whole where a dog or a cat would not get it. Then while the meat would wither in the ground the wart would wither.
(3) Here is a cure for a sty on your eye. Put your fasting spit on a sty for three mornings and it will go away. You must out the spot on with

(4) Here is a cure for a pain in your stomach. Fill a half cup of hot milk and put some sugar and pepper and drink it off quickly and you will not taste the pepper. The pain will go away in a few minutes. 
(5) Here is a cure for a cold. Get a table spoon full of Black-currant Jam and put it in a cup of hot water and make a drink Go to bed and when you will get up in the morning you will feel better.
(6) Here is a cure for a bleeding nose. Lie on your back in a bed and put a cold key down your back. In five minutes your nose will stop bleeding.

(7) Here is a cure for sore eyes. Get some cold tea and a clean piece of cloth and put the tea on with the cloth and in a few days your eyes will be better. John Reilly 6 Std
