There was a man n Killenkere who never wore boots and his name was "Mickey the toe" he never wore boots in winter or in summer.  The people began to wear boots long ago at nine years old.  The children go barefoot in summer.  The people put salt in the water to harden the feet.  There is no leather made in this country.  There is one shoemaker in this district and his name is Patrick Lee Lattaloghan is a shoemaker.  In the winter clogs are made and put on old uppers of boots and worn.  There was a man in Mullamagavan named Edward Carolon who made his living on making clogs.
There are four shoemakers in this district and their names are Patrick Lee lattaloghan, John Lynch Moher, James Lynch Drumeska and Benny Stafford can make boots Hugh Mallon is a clogmaker.
