The Tydavnet Football Team [duchas:5161134]

145

The Tydavnet football team.

I

The other night I got a fright,
When I heard the dreadful news
About Tydavnet football team.
With their jerseys, togs and shoes.
St. Patrick's band does lead them off
And their music does display
When they line out you will hear them shout
The Tydavnet boys away.

II

Frank McCarron he's the captain
He's a terror in the team
The Treanor boys and Miheal Mohan
Young Sweeney is not far behind.
For Clerkin and young Deery and the McKenna's take the sway

When they line out you will hear them shout
The Tydavnet boys away.

III

For supporters they have plenty
And the money they lay down
To see them rushing to the gate
And the fare is half-a-crown.
For postal orders or for cheques
They charge them right away.
Then take a walk inside the gate
