Story [duchas:4621295]

One night long ago a priest went on a sick call which was very urgent. He rode on horseback.
As he was going along, he heard the most beautiful song inside the hedge. It took such an effect on him that even though how urgent the call was he had to stop to listen. The song was the Nights of the Morning. When the song was over a black dog jumped on the hedge, and barked three times with joy and then disappeared.
The priest hurried on his journey and when he arrived at the sick mans house the man was dead. The priest asked what time the man died and it was about that hour the priest was listening
