Food in Olden Times [duchas:4916260]
In olden times, about 1849, the people had to use very scanty food. For their breakfast they had potatoes and sour milk and for their dinner they had meat sometimes. They would have porridge for their supper. These people were very healthy, and lived to a good old age, they also had to work very hard for a few pence a day. Work started at day break for them and ended at sunset. Any man who was able to plough got two pence more than the rest.
