Thistle Cutters used in this parish Diagram 1 Wooden Handle This part is edged with a file. Diagram 2 Timber Handle Diagram 3 Ráca Prátaí is all made of wood. Was formerly used for covering the potatoes when set in the ridges. They are still a few being used in this parish. Diagram 4. Griofán A grifán is used for breaking the sods in a ban field when it has been broken for the first time.
