Local Happenings [duchas:4977421]
Local happenings. I live in Springhall, about a quarter of a mile from where I live, a farmer named Pat Farrelly who died in the year 1930, lived with his aged mother. One day in 1930 she became ill, so Pat went to Moylough for the Priest. As he was returning he saw a big ball of fire descending to the chimney of his house, and he knew that something must have happened, so when he went home his mother was dead. Written by Maire Reilly Springhall Oldcastle. Meath told to her by her Mother.
