Lime Kilns

I was asking my father to tell me a story and this is what he told me.
Long ago when artificial manure was never heard of, the people of Ireland built kilns for burning lime, as manure for their grass.
Those kilns were built on the slope of a hillside so that the carting of the stuff would be all the more easier.
