An Old Cure for a Sprain [duchas:4745070]
An old cure for a sprain. In olden times when money was a great obstacle and especially in my district because the people were a remarkably poor race they (the people) were unable to pay a doctor or a nurse to cure their poor patients. Therefore they had to place confidence in themselves to bring relief to their sick. The people always had great belief in the efficiency of a police to cure a pain, a boil or a sprained joint.
An Old Cure for a Sprain [duchas:4745071]
I have been informed that a poultice for a sprain was made (thus) by dampening salts with boiling and then tieing it up in a muslin bag and applying it in a firm bandage. This was a wonderful poultice and it was (never) always known to ease the pain and to decrease the swelling. Rose A. Guihew, Cartron Beg, Loch Allen, Ck-ow.
