Abstract: Watercolour medical illustration depicting cystic tumour in a man. It has the alternative reference numbers 1687 and P5 on the front. The artist's name is in the bottom right corner 'J. Connolly fec.t'. Includes stamp of Bristol Boards papermaker in top right corner. The Richmond Hospital Museum reference is A.a.53. The entry for this in P263/1 pg. 5 reads 'Cystic tumour of scrotum. Pat.k Flanagan aet 9. Dr Fleming'. The handwritten note on the back reads 'Cystic tumour of the scrotum. Case by Seton. Loral[?] application & acupuncture having failed. Case. Patrick Flanagan age 9 years. Healthy boy. Tumour about size of a walnut occupying left side of scrotum. Slightly irregular on surface, walls diaphanous, fluid coffee coloured. [?] dates to about 4 months previous to application and referred to myself, [?] is tedious [?] was that Seton introduced, removed in 24 hours. [?] of considerable [?] inflame.n, subsequent attack of erysipelas accompanied with serious [?] Recurrent attack of erysipelas with irregular [?] supperates, both [?] of vaginalis glands implicated, very tedious recovery.
