Abstract: Watercolour medical illustration depicting a perforating ulcer of the stomach. It has the alternative reference number 1245 and P3A on the front. There is no Richmond Hospital Museum reference. The artist's name is in the bottom right corner 'J. Connolly Del.t' and 'Case of Jane Connor aet 30' in the bottom left corner. The handwritten note on the back reads 'Bd.16. Large perforating ulcer of the stomach. The patient was a young female, to all appearance healthy, some days before her death she was burned over the face, neck & shoulder, upon the evening of the 6th day after which, she was seized with vomiting & upon the following morning, some abdominal pain set in, followed by collapse. She died with symptoms of peritonitis on the next day'.
