Abstract: Watercolour medical illustration depicting encephaloid disease of the liver. It has the alternative reference number 2039, 314 and P4A on the front. The Richmond Hospital Museum reference is B.d.13. The entry for this in P263/1 pg. 7 reads 'Encephaloid disease of the liver. Thomas Gallagher 60'. Under the illustration is written 'Secondary cancer of liver'. The handwritten note on the back reads 'Thomas Gallagher at 60. Sections of the liver, showing numerous small scirrhous tubercles. An abscess existed in the right lobe, perhaps formed by the softening of some of the tubercles, it communicated with the gall bladder which is very small & contained a gall stone. Gallagher 60.
