Traumatic rupture of the liver

Abstract: Watercolour medical illustration depicting rupture of the liver. It has the alternative reference number 2030, 172 and P4B on the front. The Richmond Hospital Museum reference is B.d.15. The entry for this in P263/1 pg. 7 reads 'Rupture of the liver. Patrick Comerford aet 40'. In the middle at the bottom there is a typed note, it reads 'Traumatic rupture of the Liver'. The handwritten note on the back reads 'Rupture of the liver caused by the passage of a heavily laden cast over the abdomen, a portion of intestine is shown, [?] over with bile. The injury proved fatal in a few hours. Pat.k Comerford 40'.
