Abstract: Watercolour medical illustration depicting atrophy of the eye. It has the alternative reference number 1537 and P15A on the front. There is no Richmond Hospital Museum reference. The artist's name is in the bottom right 'J. Connolly fec.t' and the handwritten note in the left reads 'Denis Delany aet 60. Admitted Dec.r 7, 1854. Died Jan.y 3, 1855. Whitworth Hospital'. The handwritten note on the back reads 'For History Vide. Dublin Hospital Gazette vol.1 1854 Page 86. Atrophy of left eye of two years duration, progressive softening of the left optic nerve. Optic commissure, & left optic tract & congruent, loss of vision in the right eye'.
